The Friends of Kyungwoon Museum Inc. is an organization dedicated to supporting the Kyungwoon Museum. Its mission is to foster the museum's growth through financial contributions, material donations, and volunteer work. 

Establishing an incorporated association had been a longstanding aspiration for the Kyungwoon Museum from early on. Finally, on July 11, 2022, the inaugural meeting was held. On March 10, 2023, coinciding with the museum's 20th anniversary, we attained approval for a non-profit association from the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Department of Culture.

The urgent need for an incorporated association arose as the Kyungwoon Museum expanded from a small private museum. With growth came challenges in securing enough staff and funding. For this, gaining credibility as a public-interest corporation under governmental supervision and setting up a structured staff support system was necessary.

This is why the establishment of the Friends of Kyungwoon Museum as a legal supporting organization around its 20th anniversary will be vital in driving the museum into its next era for the next 20 years.

The main activities that the Friends of Kyungwoon Museum is planning to pursue are as follows:

• Supporting museum exhibitions and volunteer activities
• Providing support for facility improvements and acquisition of collections for the museum
• Undertaking public cultural projects for members and museum visitors
• Engaging in commissioned business operations on behalf of the museum
• Other museum-related activities necessary for achieving the objectives of the association
